Successful Typist Techniques: |
|
Posture:
|
|
Hand Position and Fingering:
-
Fingers slightly curved and "anchored" on home row.
-
Palms and wrists low, but not touching the keyboard.
-
Steady typing rhythm.
-
Thumb strikes the space-bar with a quick down and in motion.
-
Right little finger strikes the enter key, while at least the right index finger remains anchored on the "J"
-
Appropriate little finger used for the shift key. |
|
Technique:
-
Eyes on "copy" not on hands. (The copy is sometimes on the monitor and sometimes on paper/textbook located beside the monitor.)
-
MOST IMPORTANT TECHNIQUE: Use the correct fingering at ALL times. This is a touch-typing keyboarding class. Using incorrect fingering is called "hunt and peck," even if you are not looking at your hands! "Hunt and Peck" typing will result in great point deductions! |
|
Classroom Guidelines: |
-
Be responsible (on time with materials)
-
Be respectful for me, each other, and the equipment
-
Leave all food and drink in the cafeteria
-
Leave all electronics turned off in your backpack or locker |
